OMG! I Just Killed An Old Lady And They R Charging Me With A Crime! WTF?

Not Enough Punishment

Too Much Punishment
Just Right !!!

So, I'm a biker and I can't tell you the number of times I have nearly been clipped by idiots on cell phones or texting, even though the law in most states forbids hand held cell phone use for any reason.    I even had one guy drift from the right lane into the left where I was passing ... this moron had the cell phone cradled in the right hand crook of his neck while looking at something (presumably a computer screen) on his passenger seat.  When I honked the horn, he was shocked and threw me the finger.  Imagine that?  And they wonder where road rage comes from.

Anyway, along comes this poor, innocent girl with her whole life ahead of her who can't remember what happened and I am sure had no idea that texting while driving is dangerous.  In short, this really wasn't her fault.  On top of that, the person who died was just an old lady, so why should we ruin this lovely young lady's life.  Riiiiight ... right, right, right.

Look at the havoc this young fool wrought:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2744576/Woman-20-hit-killed-89-year-old-great-grandmother-distracted-looking-Facebook-phone-driving.html

In North Dakota, here are the terms of and fines for negligent homicide:

Class C - Up to five years' imprisonment and up to $5,000 in fines.

  • Perjury
  • Intentional tampering with or damaging of a public service
  • Negligent homicide
  • Human cloning

I'm sorry, but that's just not an adequate punishment for murder (unintentional though it may be), especially since this person will likely get off with wrist slap at best and early parole at worst.  It just isn't right (or even morally appropriate) to structure a legal system that doles out the same jail term for lying to a judge as it does for murder (of any degree).  Yeah, I know ... let's parse words by defining homicide vs murder, but I can assure you that if this was your grandma who died, you'd be screaming for the death penalty.  Also, we can wring our hands about not ruining another life, especially a young one, but actions should have meaningful consequences, regardless of your age.

So, the point of this article is that while  I don't really have a clue what an adequate sentence might be, other than it should at least be significantly harsher than 5 years, we need to get tougher as a society.  Why?  Because weak sentences only encourage the continuance of bad behavior and if that bad behavior harms anyone other than the person guilty of it, that person should pay a stiff price so we can discourage others from doing things that are dangerous to others.

How many times do we need to tell these twits that texting and driving don't mix?  How many more innocent people need to die before our society gets the point?

The Amazing Golfer In Chief

Not a lot of writing today, although look for more frequent postings now that summer is ending.  Also, check the quote section for some new ones.

Too much golf makes Barack a good golfer but a bad President ....

This one is simple:  Obama is a President who is one (or any combination of) the following:

insane
foolish
delusional
maniacal
narcissistic
paranoid
incompetent
evil
ignorant
out of touch with reality
unqualified
etc., etc., etc.

Why?  Just look at what this guy is saying now:

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/216281-media-makes-you-think-world-is-falling-apart

Riiiiiiiight ... right, right, right.  It's the media that has us all worried about the world melting down.  It's not radical muslim nut bag terrorists, it's not Americans getting their heads chopped off with dull knives, it's not our Ambassadors getting slaughtered, it's not disease ridden illegal aliens pouring across the border unchecked, it's not terrorists infiltrating the same borders without any resistance, it's not about a racist Attorney General trying to convict a white cop in the court of public opinion BEFORE he gets a trial, it's not about Iraq building a nuclear bomb, it's not about Putin acting exactly like Adolf Hitler, it's not about a President who is afraid to stand up against a tyrant such as Putin, it's not about an astronomical unemployment rate (if you think 8% is real, I have a bridge for sale if you are interested), it's not the IRS acting like the mafia and punishing political opponents of the administration, it's not about so many Obama screw ups that we can't even keep track.  No, it's the MEDIA who's to blame.  Those nasty bastards ... who do they think they are reporting what's going on on the world instead of what this fool want's us to believe?

The best part is that the media usually kisses this guy's ass, so if they truly are to blame for all of us being so concerned, maybe things really are as bad as they say?

UFO's and Other Stuff

Klatu and Friend

It's been a while since I've posted here.  Why?  Well, how much can you talk about our President blatantly lying about Benghazi, Idiotcare, the new Global Warming religion (who knew there were so many gullible idiots in this world), the incredible 6.3% BS unemployment rate (yeah, it's that low if you don't count all of the "dropouts"), a racist LA Clippers owner, Chris "the Slug" Christie, the idiot Republicans, the Facist Democrats, etc.

Let's talk about something fun ... aliens and conspiracy theories.  Now, before we start, let me just say I do believe there is other life "out there", I don't have a clue if we have been visited by any of that life and I absolutely do believe in conspiracies.  For those of you who think that people like me are "conspiracy nuts", think again.  History is replete with conspiracies ... Lincoln's assassination, the murder of Julius Caesar by Roman Senators, 9/11, the Oklahoma Federal Building bombing, the Kennedy Assassination (you don't REALLY think that nut bag Oswald pulled that of alone, do you?),  hell - The American Revolution (you know ... when "patriots" conspired to oust their legitimate government), etc.  In fact, if there were no conspiracies, we wouldn't need laws that forbid conspiracies to commit crimes.  And, please don't misunderstand me ... I believe there are bad conspiracies and good conspiracies.

So, with the above in mind, read this article of an interview with Bill Clinton:

http://www.wnd.com/2014/05/what-has-bill-clinton-so-stressed-about-ufos/

Interestingly, it analyzes the body movements that are "tells" that Bill is lying ... although in his case, it would probably be a lot less work to analyze the "tells" that he is being truthful.  It is interesting and entertaining stuff and certainly not requiring any deep thought.  Just entertaining news.

However, before you blow it off, listen to at least the first part of the video ... the guy offering the analysis has some pretty solid law enforcement credentials.  Then, a little more than halfway through the article, pay particular attention to this sentence:

"Further, Hansen pointed to a 1995 General Accounting Office report that stated all administrative and communication files between 1946 and 1949 from Roswell Army Air Field had been destroyed.

Now really, you have got to ask yourself, with all of the hubbub over time regarding Roswell (especially when it first happened), why would anyone destroy these documents?  Were any copies made? What did they say?  What good reason is there for destroying them (I'm sure they were taking up too much room in some clerk's file cabinet)?  My point is, actions like this merely feed the conspiracy mill and make people believe something is awry and being covered up.  Was there anything in these documents that support the theory that we were visited in Roswell?  How the hell would you know?  Here is a link to the actual GAO report on the destruction of these documents.

Did aliens actually visit us at Roswell?  Probably not, but just to be sure, I'm checking with my friend Geshnul from Alpha Centuri ...

There, now wash't that more fun than talking about Obama?

"I, uh, have no recollection of that incident ....

"It was only a little tiny bit of money"  OR
"After all, at this point, what does it really matter ...?"  OR
well, I'm just not going to make any snarky comments about Bill here

Well, the reports are in and the State Department "misplaced" (as in lost, allowed to be stolen, mismanaged) $6 billion dollars under Hillary's reign as SecState.  If you're interested in the details, here you go:

http://freebeacon.com/national-security/state-department-misplaced-6b-under-hillary-clinton/

The details are interesting and the facts are there (but of course, disputable as she is a Democrat and only Republicans are thieves), but my point of view is simply this.  If this had been George W. and the contractor was Halliburton, there would be immediate calls (outraged demands) for Congressional investigations, a Special Prosecutor and impeachment.  This incident doesn't even get mentioned on the national news - go ahead, find this on any main stream media outlet anywhere except Fox.

This of course is totally outrageous ... $6 BILLION stolen (well to be fair, it was "misplaced", whatever that means) and nobody seems outraged or even concerned except Fox and a few minor right wing outlets.  Yes, I know she didn't steal it, but the point is, it happened on her watch.  I think this lack of concern is for two major reasons:

  1. nothing new here. The media overall is nothing but a tool of the left, especially the Democrat Party which is anything but "centrist".  The media doesn't just report facts, it "filters and interprets" those facts for us, telling us when and what to think.  This is just further proof of that incredible bias that Americans allow and seem to be OK with.  (what can you do?  Don't watch network news - as viewership declines so does ad revenue, don't buy a newspaper, get your news from sources that can be trusted and that you personally trust.  As an example, I stopped buying Gannett papers years ago.  Do they miss my few bucks a week?  No.  Do they miss thousands of people not buying their rags? You bet.  Don't buy their editorialized crap and pass that idea on to your friends.  Personally, I hope they go out of business and given their declines in revenue, that is certainly possible.)
  2. we have become indifferent to the value of OUR money.  What do I mean by that?  Simply that this government has wasted, with our acquiescence, such vast amounts of our tax money on dumb programs that we now don't even blink at BILLIONS ... we don't even begin to pay attention until the talk is about TRILLIONS.  (what can you do?  VOTE for fiscal responsibility.  DONATE money to politicians who believe in fiscal responsibility.  WRITE to your elected representatives at every level of government, demanding fiscal responsibility.  FIGHT (legally) every single tax increase and "fee" using the tools listed above.  TALK to people who don't agree with this ... talking with people who agree with you is great because it gives you warm fuzzies ... convincing someone who doesn't agree with you to change their viewpoint is MUCH better.
Anyway, that's just my opinion.

We Can All Sleep A Little Better Knowing How Safe She Made The World ...

"I believe everything I say and you should too!"

This one is a real beauty ... the article, certainly not Hilary.  It tells how Hillary struggled to name her accomplishments during her tenure as SecState.  This is not at all surprising, unless you consider being complicit in destroying America's prestige and influence in the world an accomplishment.

http://capitolcityproject.com/hillary-struggles-list-accomplishments-secretary-state-tenure/

However, what I really find disconcerting about this article is this one statement  "I’m very proud of the stabilization and the really solid leadership that the administration provided that I think now, leads us to be able to deal with problems like Ukraine because we’re not so worried about a massive collapse in Europe and China — trying to figure out to do with all their bond holdings and all the problems we were obsessed with. I think we really restored American leadership in the best sense."

Huh?  As Charles Krauthammer pointed out, Putin walked in and took total control of the Crimea (part of an autonomous country, Ukraine) without firing a shot.  You call that dealing with problems?  Your idiot President did absolutely NOTHING to stop Putin from overtaking a democratically elected government and in the process, you made America look like a weak, ineffective country that was once a dominant world power.  Then, then minions of this administration like this idiot (yes, I know ... the world's smartest woman) get on TV and toe the company line.  I know it was "after you", but don't defend the "progress" that this government has made and expect us to buy it.

By the way, for those of you who believe that history certainly does repeat, compare what Putin did in Crimea with what Hitler did in the Sudetenland.  Scary.

How disgusting.

Liberal Insanity (No REALLY - this is nuts)

Appropriate treatment for pocket knife criminals - ZERO TOLERANCE!!

Every now and then, a piece of news catches my attention, even though in the overall scope of things it is a minor event.  I mean really, with Putin running amok, a total incompetent in the White House, an economy in the tank, unemployment running rampant (if you really believe that 6% nonsense, that's your prerogative) and Iran on the verge of becoming a nuclear power because American politicians are stupid and weak, a story like this one SEEMS minor.  However, the "big picture" ramifications are stunning.  Read this:

http://blog.heritage.org/2014/03/22/going-ruin-entire-life-18-year-old-aspiring-firefighter-charged-felony-pocket-knife/?utm_source=heritagefoundation&utm_medium=email&utm_term=headline&utm_content=140329&utm_campaign=saturday

Now, here is a prosecutor who is as blatantly a left wing activist as you can be.  He takes a law that is overly broad in it's scope, interprets it in a way that fits his whack job paradigms and uses it to persecute (that's right, persecute, not prosecute) a solid young man by destroying his life, all on the mantle of political (left wing) correctness.  I mean literally, he is destroying his kid's life to make a point and a dumb one at that. To me, I hope that there is a special region of hell reserved for self serving bastards like this guy.

Here's a news flash you ignorant nimrod ... there was a time in America when a pocket knife was among the most cherished possessions a young boy had.  It served a variety of purposes and while it could of course be used for self defense (how evil!), it mainly served a wide variety of practical, everyday needs.  I carry one all the time (I hope the NSA isn't monitoring this blog) and I use it to open mail, open packages from Amazon, cut cords around objects, trim my nails (it's a Swiss Army knife), cut errant threads off of clothing ... the applications are endless.  Since I carry it all the time (except when I fly of course ...that's a whole 'nother discussion ..., at which point I pack it and recover it at my destination), I certainly would not think twice about carrying it onto school property if I had a reason to be there in the first place.  Of course, if I did this in Ohio and other places around the US, I would be immediately guilty of a felony and if caught would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law (in America, this means some idiot prosecutor looking to make a name for him/herself will expend many thousands of taxpayer dollars while I go bankrupt paying over priced attorneys to defend me against this joke of a law.)  Absolutely brilliant!  By the way, earlier I said "SEEMS minor" ... think about this - these fools can pass any law they choose and use it to destroy you financially.  Years later, when you are broke, they'll likely drop the charges.  What a convenient way of making you do exactly as they wish.

Now, here's is a shocking newsflash for all of you idiots who think like this dumb ass prosecutor:  if someone is intent on wreaking havoc at a school (or anywhere else) they are not going to do it with a pocket knife, especially one that is locked in a parked car.  Further, if they are really intent on hurting another individual by cutting them, they can still do so with a knife from mommy's kitchen after school and off of school grounds.  Also, do you really think that a stupid law saying that you will be arrested for having a weapon on school grounds (by the way, a weapon could be a baseball bat, so you better go after those thugs too) is going to stop a prospective murderer?  So, you flaming idiots, who are you protecting?  What are you accomplishing, other than ruining this kids life just to promote your agenda and because you likely don't agree with his political views?  You're the ones who should be prosecuted ... for raging stupidity and blatant political prejudice.  You won't do much to some gang banger who possesses drugs (can't have any of that "profiling" stuff, even though that protects everyone but the criminal), but you will wreck a nice young man like this to prove your stupid point.  You vicious, small minded thug.

Extreme liberalsim is indeed a mental disease and unless this country wakes up (not likely in my opinion), the only freedom we'll have left is the freedom to obey our masters.

Global Climate Warming Change ....

The End of Snow

I really have a ton of other things to address on this blog, but the progressives just keep throwing this climate nonsense at me, so I just can't resist.  Could this be a plot to silence me on real issues (I wish this blog was that popular)?  Today, let's disrupt the socialist party line by confusing obvious BS with facts.  Case in point: Sochi.

Here is an article published by that beacon of journalistic integrity (just ask them, they'll tell you), the New York Times ... the breathless headline - The End of Snow:

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/08/opinion/sunday/the-end-of-snow.html?emc=edit_tnt_20140207&tntemail0=y&_r=3

The writer cites all kinds of studies and statements from .... organizations who have a vested interest in grabbing cash from the "climate change" panic.  He also cites the dire statistic that global temperatures have risen 1.4 degrees F since  "the 1800's".  Probably true, but rough math indictes that a century is 100 years long ... a pretty wide window, meaning his spread could be from 114 to 214 years long.  He also ignores the fact that global temps have DROPPED .36 degrees F since 2001 - just 13 short years.  See, here's the deal ... climate, just like weather, does change.  We don't really understand why (despite the claims of puffed up academics), but since temperature is dropping while CO2 is supposedly increasing might be a pretty good indicator that this innocuous gas really doesn't do anything but feed plants.  I figured that out, and I didn't even graduate from Harvard!

The author also cites his horrible experiences skiing on manmade snow.  Oh, the horror!  How does one want to continue living under these conditions?  By the way dummy, have you hit the slopes this year?  Those snow guns must be running 24 x 7 to pump out this much white stuff!  And, if you are an avid cross country skier, I hear Boston is THE destination for that sport!

Now lets visit Sochi, where the author of the above article bemoans the horrible conditions ... no snow, man made snow and snow saved from last year.  OK ... let's look at the facts.  First, Sochi is a Black Sea resort town, right next to Chechnya.  Our good pal Vlad selected this for one reason only ... politics.  Those rebels won't scare him!  I mean really, why else would you select a resort town in a mild climate to conduct the Winter Olympics?

Did I say mild climate?  Obviously, I'm nuts ... it's really a ski resort right?  Wrong.  Have a look:

http://www.weatherbase.com/weather/weather.php3?s=17173

Here's a few fun facts about Sochi during the month of February:

Average Temperature - 42.8 F (140 years of data)
Average High - 49 F (19 years of data)
Average Low - 37 F (19 years of data)
Average Precipitation - 5" (45 years of data)
Average Number of Days With Snow - 3  (19 years of data)

This sounds more like Charlotte, North Carolina (Average February Temperature - 43.9 F) than a ski resort to me.  So this begs the question: how does a lack of snow in Sochi surprise ANYONE?  Better question: why would ANYONE select this place for the Winter Olympics?  At best, it is a moderate climate area.  For answers to these stupid mere mortal questions, you would have to ask those paragons of wisdom, Vlad Putin and the International Olympic Committee.  I have a guess, (but I'm just a conspiracy nut) ... it involves money, Russian politics and "climate change" politics.

Feel free to spread this info around.  It might actually educate someone.
