The Big Guy

The Big Guy
"The Big Guy" - A name conferred on me by my son, who quickly learned not to call dad names. However, the name stuck and here I am 30 years later.

"I, uh, have no recollection of that incident ....

"It was only a little tiny bit of money"  OR
"After all, at this point, what does it really matter ...?"  OR
well, I'm just not going to make any snarky comments about Bill here

Well, the reports are in and the State Department "misplaced" (as in lost, allowed to be stolen, mismanaged) $6 billion dollars under Hillary's reign as SecState.  If you're interested in the details, here you go:

http://freebeacon.com/national-security/state-department-misplaced-6b-under-hillary-clinton/

The details are interesting and the facts are there (but of course, disputable as she is a Democrat and only Republicans are thieves), but my point of view is simply this.  If this had been George W. and the contractor was Halliburton, there would be immediate calls (outraged demands) for Congressional investigations, a Special Prosecutor and impeachment.  This incident doesn't even get mentioned on the national news - go ahead, find this on any main stream media outlet anywhere except Fox.

This of course is totally outrageous ... $6 BILLION stolen (well to be fair, it was "misplaced", whatever that means) and nobody seems outraged or even concerned except Fox and a few minor right wing outlets.  Yes, I know she didn't steal it, but the point is, it happened on her watch.  I think this lack of concern is for two major reasons:

  1. nothing new here. The media overall is nothing but a tool of the left, especially the Democrat Party which is anything but "centrist".  The media doesn't just report facts, it "filters and interprets" those facts for us, telling us when and what to think.  This is just further proof of that incredible bias that Americans allow and seem to be OK with.  (what can you do?  Don't watch network news - as viewership declines so does ad revenue, don't buy a newspaper, get your news from sources that can be trusted and that you personally trust.  As an example, I stopped buying Gannett papers years ago.  Do they miss my few bucks a week?  No.  Do they miss thousands of people not buying their rags? You bet.  Don't buy their editorialized crap and pass that idea on to your friends.  Personally, I hope they go out of business and given their declines in revenue, that is certainly possible.)
  2. we have become indifferent to the value of OUR money.  What do I mean by that?  Simply that this government has wasted, with our acquiescence, such vast amounts of our tax money on dumb programs that we now don't even blink at BILLIONS ... we don't even begin to pay attention until the talk is about TRILLIONS.  (what can you do?  VOTE for fiscal responsibility.  DONATE money to politicians who believe in fiscal responsibility.  WRITE to your elected representatives at every level of government, demanding fiscal responsibility.  FIGHT (legally) every single tax increase and "fee" using the tools listed above.  TALK to people who don't agree with this ... talking with people who agree with you is great because it gives you warm fuzzies ... convincing someone who doesn't agree with you to change their viewpoint is MUCH better.
Anyway, that's just my opinion.
