An Alternative View Of Chris Christie ...

This guy just can't help giving the media more ammunition ...

I'm so sick of reading and hearing of this nonsense that the last thing I was going to do is comment on this.  But good God ... it just won't go away, so I just can't resist.

Let me start by saying that I never liked Christie.  I think that he is just a self important blowhard who tries passing himself off as a "Republican" who is fiscally conservative and socially liberal.  Fiscally conservative?  You mean like entitling illegal aliens to resident rates at New Jersey State Universities.  Yeah, that's sure watching the bucks.  In short, this guy isn't even a RINO ... he's worse. He's a liberal Democrat who just lies about his party loyalties and the Republicans let him.  Of course, the idiots at Republican Party HQ buy into this hook, line and sinker and think he is the great hope for Republicans to seize the White House.  Please.  This jerk couldn't win a presidential election if he was the only candidate.  And who could ever forget those heart warming pictures of Christie hugging Obama just before the election?  Literally brought tears to my eyes!  Or how about that great Ali speech at the Republican Convention?  You know, the one where he kept telling everyone why he is the greatest instead of endorsing Romney?

Moving on to the horrible traffic jams that jeopardized the very security of the entire free world (based on all of the news hubbub, what other conclusion could you draw?), the main question is whether or not Christie is lying.  Is he lying???  OF COURSE HE IS.  He is lying through his teeth!  Not only is he lying about not knowing that this stuff was happening, he is probably the one who told his chief of staff to make it happen.  Really, you have got to be kidding (or on drugs) if you claim that Christie was not aware of this.  Do you really think this self serving, self absorbed hypocrite would ever admit to ANYTHING that would make him look bad?  Seriously?  OK ... enough of casting aspersions upon his "character" ... let's me just stipulate that I think he was lying.

So now that I've set the tone here, let's move on to the REAL ISSUE, which is the horrible traffic jam that jeopardized life and limb.  In fact, I think I heard a news report that so many cars were backed up in New Jersey that their combined weight caused the earth to tilt even more on it's axis!  Really!  Well ... OK ... maybe that didn't happen, but at least we know that a 91 year old lady actually died because emergency help couldn't get through to her, so at least, according to Alan Dershowitz, Christie could very well be charged with FELONY MURDER!  Well, then there is the news report that the woman's family stated that emergency crews couldn't have helped ... she died fairly quickly.  OK, but even if nobody died because of this, they could have and as everyone knows, there are never any traffic jams in the New York megalopolis.

Now let's take a look at the "normal" conditions around the George Washington Bridge (GWB).  I know a little about this because I lived in New Jersey for 5 years and commuted into Manhattan on most workdays.  What do I think of the normal traffic situation in this area?  Fuh ged aboud it!

There are 3 ways to get from NJ to NYC in a wheeled vehicle other than a train ... The GWB, the Lincoln Tunnel and the Holland Tunnel.  Every stinking day during the workweek, these things back up and are God awful nightmares.  To pass the time, I often read a newspaper while crawling along a few inches at a time in a never ending line of stop and go traffic.  So, if you choose to live in this area and you have, say a heart attack, expect that your chance of croaking are in fact higher than if you have the same condition on Albany.  In short, the damn ambulance is still very likely to be delayed, whether Chris Christie is playing political grab ass or not.  And how about all of the environmental whining about the greenhouse gas emitted during this fiasco?  Listen, if you're worried about CO2, try to figure out how to eliminate the daily backup at the bridges and tunnels.  As far as Christie creating an atmosphere of intimidation and using his power to punish his opponents, this is all probably true.  Certainly, this heinous practice has no historical equivalent .... well, unless you consider the Daley machine in Chicago (where Obama spent his early years suckling at the political teat) or Obama using the IRS to hamstring his political opponents.  No sir, these don't even come close to creating a traffic jam!  Not only that, but Christie was acting like some sort of Mafia Don, which is shocking in an area that has no record at all of organized crime!  As John Stewart said ... he is from NJ and this "scandal" was so minor, he was embarrassed.

So here's the wrap up.  Chris Christie is a lying, liberal politician who is guilty as hell of creating the traffic jam in question.  So what?  He caused a traffic jam in an area that is the intergalactic center for traffic jams.  Everybody is whining their collective asses of for different reasons ... the press because they want to divert attention from the real disaster that is Obamacare, Christie's opponents because he kicked their collective asses, the Democrat Party (yes, I purposely did not say Democratic) because they think he is a presidential contender (boy, are they wrong) and finally, the drivers in the New York Metro Area because they FINALLY have someone who they can identify that can be crucified for making their lousy lives miserable.  Really, if you don't like to spend a significant part of your life sitting in traffic, if you don't want to experience road rage, if you don't want to be a victim of mob like political tactics and if you don't want to risk your life by living in an area where emergency care often can't reach you, move out of the cesspool that you live in.  Otherwise, quit you bitching and keep honking your horn!

Oh yeah, and to our "impartial" news media, try reporting on something that the rest of the country (and world) really cares about.
